Our Traditions

As in most greek organizations, Lambda Theta Alpha has many unique traditions that we participate in and uphold. These traditions can differ in performances, lingo, etc.

Performances

Lambda Theta Alpha chapters throughout the nation, have performances to show their pride and respect for their organization.

These include

  • Saluting- Unified movements in a line that are synchronized with words to show respect to the organization or certain people in i.

  • Strolling- A unified dance to a song.

  • New Member Presentation- A way we like to present our new members to the Greek community on campus.

  • Please Note: We do NOT step out of respect for the historically black sororities and fraternities and it's significance to them.

Lingo

In Lambda Theta Alpha, there are terms we use

frequently that are significant to our sorority.

  • Orientation- The process to become a sister.

  • PM (Pledge Mistress)- Someone who oversees the orientation process.

  • APM (Assistant Pledge Mistress) -The assistant to the PM who also helps oversee the orientation process.

  • Line- A group of women who went through orientation together.

  • LS (Line Sister)- A sister of someone in the same orientation line as you.

With Unity, Love and Respect
